00 Understanding the Microvellum ERP Interface


The Microvellum ERP application gives you the ability to keep all of your project and company data organized in the Microvellum Database. Once you open the application the splash screen will be displayed allowing you Check for Updates, Enter your Serial Number, Visit the eSupport Site, or start the application by clicking the Microvellum Software Button.

You will have access to the Microvellum ERP Application with the free or paid subscription of Fluid Designer. The Free Version will not allow you to access some of the features in Microvellum ERP. The Features you will not have access to are noted in this article. 


After you click the click the Microvellum Software Button the main interface will load.

The main interface will display general training information and videos that demonstrate functionality in the latest libraries that are available with the paid subscription. 

Along the top of the interface you will find the ribbon to access various commands.


Design - The Design Button allows you to access all of the projects that you have in your database. After you click the button you will be shown this interface. NOTE: This is only available with a paid subscription

This interface allows you to add more projects to your database. If you right click on one of the categories you will be allowed to Add a New Project. Once the project is created the project view will be displayed. View The Project View Section for more information on how to work with this interface.

Advanced Setup - The Advanced Setup allows you to access the specification groups for the toolbox data. This is typically only used if you are using toolbox. For more information on this view The Toolbox documentation.  NOTE: This is only available if you have a Microvellum Toolbox Library

Download Libraries - This interface allows you to download new Fluid Designer Libraries. Once you click the button you will be given access to this interface.


To download the libraries click the download button and wait for the progress bar to download and install the library. Once the library has been installed the Library will automatically be loaded the next time you launch Fluid Designer. NOTE: This is only available with a paid subscription

Launch Fluid Designer - The Launch Fluid Designer Button will launch the Fluid Designer Application. This will open a new instance of the application and allow you to design. If you want to open a room that is loaded in the database you need to open a project first. For more information on this read he section titled The Project View below.

Print Estimating - This will show you the interface to open the available estimating reports. NOTE: This is only available with a paid subscription


The Project View

Once a project is opened by selecting the Design Button and either creating a new project or opening an existing one. The Project View will be displayed. NOTE: This is only available with a paid subscription


This interface is broken up into several panels.

The Location Viewer - By default the location viewer is displayed on the left side of the interface and displays all of the rooms that are currently available in the active project.


Add_New_Location_Button.png The Add New Location Button will add a new location to the project.

Open_Design_File_Button.png The Open Design File will open the design file associated to the room that is currently selected.

Sync_Design_File_Button.png They Sync Button will sync all of the design data with the database. All of the products, parts, and walls that you added to the design will be synced with the database allowing you to create reports off all of the information in the design.

Import_Design_File_Button.png The Import Blend File will allow you to import an existing blend file into the database. The Room will automatically be created when you import the file, but if you want to pull the product information into the database you will still need to click the Sync Button.

Project Properties - The Project Properties Interface allows you to add properties to your project and locations. The interface is broken up into several tabs.


  • Project Information Tab - Displays general project information.
  • User Defined Project Properties Tab - Displays custom properties that are assigned to the project. To add a new user defined project property right click in the interface and select the Add Project Level Property.
  • User Defined Location Properties Tab - Displays custom properties that are assigned to the currently selected location.
  • Correspondence Tab - Displays all of the correspondence that you have had about this project.  You can add a new correspondence item by right clicking and selecting the Add Correspondence button.

Product List - The product List displays all of the products that were synced from the design file. To populate this list you must first click the Sync Design File Button. You can also view the Parts List for any product by selecting the Parts List Tab with a product in the list selected.
